Truth be told, this was a pretty scary scene in the film...that dead guy just jumping out at you with a bit of nice studio editing.
If I hadn't just read the back of the card I would have never known that the dead guy was one of Indy's archeologist pals....either way, he's a dead now...
Keep going Indy! you're nearly at the treasure.
